Roger Carswell to speak at THE MESSAGE on the 1st April

We are very pleased to welcome the itinerant evangelist, Roger Carswell, who will be speaking at THE MESSAGE at 6:30 PM, Sunday 1st April.

Roger was converted as a teenager and worked as a school teacher in West Yorkshire for over ten years. Since 1983 he has been an itinerant evangelist taking university and church missions in many parts of the UK and beyond. He also writes and distributes tracts and evangelical books. He has recently had published “And some evangelists” describing the work of the evangelist. He is married to Dot and they have four children. http://www.theevangelist.org.uk

THE MESSAGE is the regular Sunday evening service at Rothwell Baptist Church. It is an informal and relevent service ideal for existing Christians and anyone wanting to know more about God but are perhaps, a bit afraid of Church.

THE MESSAGE about The Lord

What does hearing the message about The Lord mean today? You may not believe that God is real, or maybe you struggle with the rather old fashioned language of religion. At THE MESSAGE, each Sunday evening at 6:30, we tell people about God in a way that makes Him relevant to the way we lead our lives today. This Sunday, we will be telling the inspiring story of Saul, a persecutor who became a believer; the Saint we call Paul. Come, and we will explain what Saul has in common with The Terminator (a.k.a. Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Frank Abagnale Jr. (immortalised in the Film: Catch Me If You Can).

Last half term, some of the children produced a video based on 1 Corinthians 13. If you missed the showing, here is another chance for you to see it.

The Message is our regular Sunday evening service.

This season we will be looking through the book of Acts. We will bring it bang up to date; how can a modern Church in the modern world meet the challenges set by our New Testament predecessors? What do these early saints have to say that relevant to us today?

We promise you “excitement, adventure and really wild things”, supernatural powers, great journeys, shipwrecks, persecution, redemption, martyrdom and much, much more.

So join us, at Rothwell Baptist Church, each Sunday evening at 6:30PM, starting on Sunday 8th January with Acts 1: “You Will Be My Witnesses”.

The second MESSAGE video is now available. This talk is about the Crucifixion of Jesus as told by John. The speaker (Richard Mann) uses the example of the trapped miners at the San Jose mine in Chilli to explain the need for Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection to save us from Sin. This Sunday, the 27th November, will be the final in our series on JOHN, it will cover the final chapter in John’s story and ask the question: who is John? THE MESSAGE is the regular Sunday Evening service at Rothwell Baptist Church, it starts at 6:30 PM.

Each Sunday at 6:30 PM, we hold our evening service known as THE MESSAGE. We have been following the life of Jesus told through the Gospel of John. As a trial, we have been videoing THE MESSAGE talks and the first one is shown here. It tells of the trial of Jesus before Pilate. THE MESSAGE in November

November is an exciting time for THE MESSAGE at Rothwell Baptist Church. We are concluding our John series with 4 weeks dedicated to Jesus’ trial, death and glorious ressurection. This may seem a lot like Easter but we don’t mind because all the time is the right time to celebrate what Jesus did on the Cross. Its quite appropriate in fact to do this in the lead-up to Christmas because it reminds us that the birth of Christ is the beginning of a journey that leads ultimately to the Cross, the Resurrection and because of that, our salvation.

All of this with up to date examples and modern language, making THE MESSAGE relevant to your life today. So, come along, each Sunday in November at 6:30 PM. Everyone is welcome.

During December we will be looking at the Gospels and Christmas so watch this space for more news on THE MESSAGE.
